About
Welcome to Dimitra Traditional Cafe & Restaurant, a hidden gem nestled in the heart of Kardiani, Greece. This charming cafe provides an enchanting blend of traditional Tinian cuisine and warm hospitality, making it a must-visit destination for food lovers and travelers alike.
The ambiance of Dimitra's is as inviting as its menu. With blue chairs adorning a cozy setup, the cafe offers a peaceful respite where patrons can savor the authentic flavors of Greece. Guests often rave about the delightful housemade pies, including the beloved spinach and zucchini varieties. As Ruby Swinney noted, these dishes are not just tasty; they are an essential part of your culinary journey in Tinos. The galaktoboureko and orange cake, paired perfectly with a rich Greek coffee, are just a couple of the sweet indulgences that await you.
Every visit promises friendly service, echoing the sentiments of Constance Delvinquiere, who described the hosts as “the sweetest.” This warmth adds to the overall dining experience and makes you feel at home, whether you’re popping in for a quick refreshment or enjoying a leisurely meal.
Despite its small size, the menu never disappoints. Guests recommend savoring the artichoke pie and local cheese, often highlighting their deliciousness. As Per Jessen remarked after just sampling a few items, he was compelled to give a rare five-star rating, reflecting the high standards set by the cafe's offerings.
However, be prepared for the cafe’s limited seating; it can fill up quickly, as mentioned by Σταύρος Κουμζής. The intimate setting might mean that travelers will need to arrive early or right when the doors open in order to secure a spot among the few tables available.
In conclusion, Dimitra Traditional Cafe & Restaurant is not just a place to eat; it is an experience to be embraced. From the delicious dishes crafted with love to the heartfelt service provided by its gracious hosts, a visit to Dimitra's is sure to create lasting memories. If you find yourself in Tinos, this delightful cafe is an experience that should not be missed.
“ This was really a fairly small place, and we only sat down for some homemade lemonade . We ended up having some cheese and some artichoke pie, all of it delicious. I don't normally give out 5 stars, but I'll make an exception. It is my wife and my son in the photos , I have their permission. ”
“ Amazing peaceful place and the sweetest hosts! Food is delicious ! ”
“ A very cute café in the heart of Kardiani. It is very charming with its blue chairs and location. They serve traditional food, we arrived late and they were closing in twenty minutes so they had limited choices. Everything was delicious and they were kind enough to still serve us. ”
“ Our favourite place during our stay in Kardiani! Warm and friendly service, delicious housemade pies (we shared two every morning - spinach and zucchini were so good!), and the galaktoboureko and orange cake were superb with Greek coffee. Will be back for dinner some day! A must if you’re in Tinos. ”
“ Very nice local food..Dimitra is too friendly..small dishes but delicious...4 star because although it's a fine small place that you have to visit, there not too many tables so if you can't find something at Dimitra's place, there is only 1 more restaurant to visit and just to know, when we went there it was closed...so I guess that we were lucky that we found a table on Dimitra's place and that we were only 2 persons, for sure ”
“ Unpretentious and small coffee / small restaurant; neither scenic views nor dishes with pompous names and garnitures. You will enjoy a variety of traditional dishes of good quality to share, promptly served. ”
